CONICAL WASHER

A conical washer is a washer with a slight conical structure, that provides an axial force when deformed. The surface may be serrated which will have enhanced locking properties. These are also called conical spring washers. These washers are typically used in high current loading or cycling conditions. These are used to absorb vibration and can maintain preload in bolted joints, indicating correct preload based on the gap between adjacent washers.
