CONICAL WASHER

CONICAL WASHER

A conical washer is a washer with a slight conical structure, that provides an axial force when deformed. The surface may be serrated which will have enhanced locking properties. These are also called conical spring washers. These washers are typically used in high current loading or cycling conditions. These are used to absorb vibration and can maintain preload in bolted joints, indicating correct preload based on the gap between adjacent washers. Use conical washers properly, avoid overloading and over-torquing them. These can be reused repeatedly in several projects. Conical washers offer great load-bearing ability. These are particularly designed to provide a compensating spring force and sustain a load or absorb shock. Conical washers span holes and maintain high tension in screw and nut assemblies. These are available in plain and toothed periphery styles.

Disc spring washers from SEF are angular fasteners with a conical center. These can be oriented in any direction to provide maximum versatility. These can be leveraged to provide maximum load-bearing abilities in a small area of operation. The opposing force provided by the conical center can act as a powerful deflection combination to provide the structure with a high friction hold. These washers can be used in series or parallel depending on the applications. In addition to that, these can be used with contact flats to spread the load evenly on uneven surfaces. These are used to convert load into progressive characteristics that complement the structure, equipment, or component you are building. They also come with extremely long life, effectively needing replacement only once in a decade.

Standard

ASTM, IS, ISO, DIN, ANSI, ASME and all international standards.

Material
COATINGS

Conical washers are mostly available in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel. They are heat-treated to provide maximum durability and minimum wear and tear.

Several techniques are used to enhance the corrosion-resistant properties of certain washer materials:

Zinc /Aluminium Flake Coating

Electroplating

Phosphating

PTFE
