DTI WASHER

DTI WASHER

Direct tension indicators (DTI) are washers manufactured as an indicating tool for torqueing. These washers are used on a hex assembly and are designed to ensure proper tension on bolts. There are two types of DTIs, both resulting in the same outcome-Standard & Squirter. Traditional DTIs have bumps around the washer that flatten once proper tension is achieved. It allows you to have a visual confirmation that tension is achieved. When properly tensioned, squirter washers will squirt out a colored silicone that gives you a visual confirmation that tension has been achieved. An extra advantage to this is that inspectors can easily see the bolts were installed properly, saving time on the job site.

DTI washers are used to indicate the correct bolt tension when a bolt is installed. The Squirter DTI is placed under a hardened surface such as a bolt head, nut, or hardened washer, with the bumps facing away from the structural steel. As the bolt is tensioned, the clamping force flattens the bumps, reducing the gap which causes a colored silicone material to squirt out, giving the visual indication that the bolt has reached its proper tension. Dimensional specifications are governed by ASME B18.2.6. Available in a mechanical galvanized finish, which provides a corrosion-resistant zinc coating.

Benefits of using Direct Tensions Indicators Washers:

Ensure the bolting assemblages are tensioned correctly.

Saves the cost of inspection.

No torque numbers are obligatory, only feeler gauges.

Risk lessening on over-tightening;

DTIs are mass-produced in obedience with EN 14399-9 and can be supplied with CE approved preload bolting assemblies.

The unique curved protrusion design reduces the inevitability of using nut face/bolt face washers for assemblies.

DTI retain their correctness regardless of their surface condition during tightening, be they oiled, coated, or even rusted.

DTIs guarantee slip resistance.

Nickel-based alloy

COATINGS

Phosphate plated

Zinc plated

All types of coating won’t be preferred for DTI’s since the property may get affected.
