SEF has a special capacity of making nyloc nuts even on bigger sizes.Normally available sizes will be upto M36 and 1.1/2”.SEF has facility to make nylocs to a size of M100 and 4”.
A nylock nut has a polymer collar, inserted into a recess at the top of the nut, which is slightly smaller than the outer thread diameter. This collar deforms elastically when the nut is tightened, causing friction. The Nylock nut is an economic locking nut and ideal in applications where vibration or motion could loosen or undo the nut. The nut can also be used to assist in sealing the bolt thread against seepage of oil, water, petrol, paraffin, and other liquids. They provide desirable reusability and can be used assuredly up to fifteen times after an initial fastening. Nylock Nut is a torque prevailing nut that uses a plastic/nylon insert located towards the top of the nut, reducing its inner diameter, which then deforms over the mating thread. This captures the bolt or screw, providing a locking feature causing resistance or prevailing torque – keeping the nut locked in position and resistant to vibration.
This design feature means that the screw threads do not cause damage to the plastic/nylon section allowing the nut to be re-used – although the locking feature will deteriorate after persistent re-use. They can be used in environments with relatively high temperatures where they can retain their locking ability up to 121°C. Nylock nuts from SEF have a nylon-filled center which prevents the components from loosening. The nylon filling is machine threaded and acts as a lock to ensure that the fastening is secure. The usage of these nuts makes sure that the structural damage to the body is minimum despite repeated assembly and disassembly. There are two ways in which the nylon locks the nut. The first method increases the friction between the nut and screw by forcing the bottom face of the screw threads against the top face of the nut threads. In a second way, a compressive force is exerted against the screw itself.
